(WGR 550) - The National Hockey League wanted its players to stay in their NHL cities and self-quarantine, but now the league is letting players go home to any country. Once those players get there, they still have to stay in self-quarantine until the end of the month. The league issued an official statement on Monday morning:

When the league suspended the season, it seemed very shortsighted that it felt it would be possible to be back in three to four weeks. Now, it seems like the NHL realizes it's going to be awhile.

The latest recommendation from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said gatherings of 50 or more people should be postponed for the next eight weeks.
