One of the Buffalo Sabres' unrestricted free agents to-be this offseason has reportedly received a contract offer to play overseas next season.
In his 12-year career in the NHL, Frolik has scored 159 goals and amassed 225 assists for 384 points in 850 career games playing with the Sabres, Flames, Florida Panthers, Chicago Blackhawks and Winnipeg Jets. He was part of the 2012-13 Blackhawks roster that was able to win the Stanley Cup over the Boston Bruins.
With Frolik off the books in free agency this offseason, it clears $4.3 million in cap space for the Sabres. Other unrestricted free agents of note this offseason for the Sabres include Wayne Simmonds, Johan Larsson, Zemgus Girgensons and Jimmy Vesey.
Avangard Omsk is coached by former NHL head coach Bob Hartley, who happened to coach Frolik in Calgary during the 2015-16 season. That season saw Frolik score 15 goals and pick up 17 assists for 32 points in 64 games.
