For a second time on Saturday, the Buffalo Sabres moved up in the 2019 NHL Draft to get a player that they targeted.
The Sabres ended up trading the 177th overall pick and the 191st overall pick in this year's draft to the Detroit Red Wings in order to move back into the fifth round. With the 143rd overall pick, the Sabres ended up selecting left winger Filip Cederqvist from the Växjö Lakers in the Swedish Hockey League.

June 22, 2019 The 18-year-old winger split time this season between Växjö's junior club and the parent club in the SHL. The 6' 1" and 187-pound forward scored 32 points (14+18) in 26 games with the junior club, while scoring eight points (4+4) in 33 games in the top league.
Cederqvist is expected to remain oversas with Växjö next season, where he will play with 2017 second round pick Marcus Davidsson.
