Sabres set to open training camp on September 12

The Buffalo Sabres announced on Friday that the team will open training camp for the 2019-20 season on Thursday, September 12.

The players are to report for testing and physicals on the first day of camp with the first practice coming on Friday, September 13.

This year's training camp will primarily be held at KeyBank Center, and will feature three sessions that will be open to the public on Sunday, September 15, Thursday, September 26 and Friday, September 27.

Here is the schedule for the open practices:

Sunday, September 15:

  • Gold Group: 10 - 11:15 a.m.
  • Blue Group: 1 - 2:15 p.m.

Thursday, September 26:

  • Practice: 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. (Harborcenter)

Friday, September 27:

Practice: 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. (Harborcenter)

The Sabres have also announced that four of their six preseason games will be televised on MSG.

Here is the schedule of games to be televised:

  • Friday, September 20: at Toronto - 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, September 21: vs. Toronto - 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, September 25: vs. Columbus - 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, September 28: at Pittsburgh - 4 p.m.

Buffalo's first two games of the preseason will be available for streaming on Sabres.com to viewers inside the local broadcast market.

Here is the schedule for those two games:

  • Monday, September 16: vs. Pittsburgh - 7 p.m. (Pegula Ice Arena)
  • Tuesday, September 17: at Columbus - 7 p.m.

All six preseason contests can be heard on the radio home of the Buffalo Sabres - WGR Sports Radio 550.
