In his American Hockey League career with the Binghamton Senators, Belleville Senators, San Antonio Rampage and Wild, Hammond has a career 62-55-6 record in 132 games with a 3.03 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage.
Hammond also has plenty of experience in the NHL with the Ottawa Senators and the Colorado Avalanche. In 56 games, Hammond went 27-15-6 with a 2.31 goals-against average, a .923 save percentage and four shutouts.
The most memorable moment of Hammond's career was when he helped get Ottawa to the Stanley Cup playoffs in the 2014-15 season. In just 23 games with the Senators, Hammond went 20-1-2 with a 1.79 goals-against, a .941 save percentage and three shutouts. Ottawa ended up turning their season around thanks, in part, to his play, and ended up earning a playoff berth against the Montreal Canadiens.
Hammond is likely to play with the Rochester Americans this season as their starting goalie and team up with Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen once he returns from offseason surgery.
