Just hours after the University at Buffalo's men's basketball team cruised past the Akron Zips in the MAC Quarterfinals on Thursday, the Bulls and head coach Nate Oats inked a five-year contract extension that will keep the two-time reigning MAC Coach of the Year in Buffalo until 2024.

March 14, 2019 Oats has served as head coach of the Bulls since the 2015-16 season, compiling a 92-42 record. In those four seasons, Oats led UB to two MAC regular season championships (2017-18, 2018-19), a pair MAC Tournament Championships (2015-16, 2017-18), and two berths in the NCAA Tournament.
The Bulls are coming off a historic regular season in 2018-19, going 28-3 and 16-2 in conference play en route to a No. 1 seed in the ongoing MAC Tournament.
The team will face Central Michigan in the MAC Semifinals on Friday night at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. and can be heard on our sister station, ESPN 1520.
