CAPACCIO: 2019 NFL Mock Draft No. 1

It's April. That means mock draft season.

Here's my first mock of 2019, going all the way to the Buffalo Bills' 40th overall pick in Round 2:

1. Arizona Cardinals - QB - Kyler Murray (Oklahoma)2. San Francisco 49ers - DE-  Nick Bosa (Ohio State)3. New York Jets - EDGE - Quinnen Williams (Alabama)4. Oakland Raiders - EDGE - Josh Allen (Kentucky)5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - EDGE - Rashan Gary (Michigan)6. New York Giants - QB - Dwayne Haskins (Ohio State)7. Jacksonville Jaguars - OT - Jawaan Taylor (Florida)8. Detroit Lions - EDGE - Montez Sweat (Mississippi State)9. Buffalo Bills - DL - Ed Oliver (Houston)

The Bills are in a great position to trade down and grab more picks or stay at nine and get a terrific talent on the defensive side. That’s exactly what they get here in Oliver, an elite defender who can step in and play right away, especially given how head coach Sean McDermott loves to rotate players up front. Oliver is incredibly explosive off the ball, which allows him to penetrate and disrupt plays in the backfield and even pressure the quarterback, something the Bills could really use from the interior defensive line. The knock on him is his frame. At 6' 2" and 287-pounds, he’s shorter and lighter than what you usually want from an interior defensive linemen, which is why he needs to rely on his speed, athleticism, and explosiveness off the ball to beat offensive linemen before they can really latch on to him. The Bills already have Star Lotulelei as their primary run-stuffing and block-eating defensive lineman, which means Oliver wouldn’t have to be used to do that right away and could play to his strengths as a penetrator and pursuer. 10. Denver Broncos - LB - Devin White (LSU)11. Cincinnati Bengals - LB - Devin Bush (Michigan)12. Green Bay Packers - TE - T.J. Hockenson (Iowa)13. Miami Dolphins - QB - Drew Lock (Missouri)14.
