KRAMER: 2019 NFL Mock Draft No. 1

Mock draft season is well in motion, with less than three weeks until the 2019 NFL Draft.

We've gotten into mock draft mode here at WGR with Sal Capaccio starting it off with his first mock draft, followed by Nate Geary just a couple of days later. I'm now throwing my hat into the ring with my first mock, but I have something a bit different from Sal and Nate for the Bills in Round 1. We'll go through to pick 40 in the second round.

Yes, Ed Oliver is falling right into Buffalo's lap, but I suspect the Bills aren't done overhauling the offense. Tight end is a huge need still, despite the signing of free agent Tyler Kroft. Hockenson is seen, by some, as the best tight end in the class along with fellow Iowa tight end Noah Fant. More importantly, Hockenson and Fant alike are both talented enough to be worthy of a top-10 pick. The Bills go for Hockenson here, as the more complete tight end. While Fant is seen as a better pass catcher, Hockenson is still extremely athletic in his own right. Buffalo fills a need but also gets a talented player to become a favorite target for second-year quarterback Josh Allen. 10. Denver Broncos - LB - Devin White (LSU)11. More offense for the Bills in Round 2 and simply put, the best player available on the board. Brown is a speedy terror that would be the guy running down the ball after Allen fires it deep down field. Brown is recovering from a Lisfranc surgery, which has dropped his draft stock. If not for the surgery, Brown would have been in the conversation for first receiver drafted in this class. With how aggressive Buffalo went after receivers in free agency, the team can afford to take Brown and not need to rush him through his recovery.
