Pittsburgh (93.7 The Fan) - Pitt does not yet have a non-conference opponent to face in the season opener, but coach Pat Narduzzi said a game will be played at Heinz Field on September 12.
"You know I told the team after (practice), we're playing on the 12th," Narduzzi said Friday. "Expect to play on the 12th. We're preparing for that day. Be ready to go."
Narduzzi said some players have doubts about the start of the season.
"If you have it in your mind 'well, I'm not sure,' that's what we're doing with. And that's what worries me. We have to stick together as a team and believe there's going to be a season on the 12th. I have no question we're playing on the 12th. We're playing."
In addition to stressing the importance of being prepared, Narduzzi said his players must remain smart.
"I told our guys to have one girlfriend, don't have two of three. I think that's a dangerous thing. Our guys have to be smart on campus."
