All-Pro safety Earl Thomas, who hasn't played in the NFL since 2019 has said that he wanted to make a return to the NFL sometime this spring or summer. However with a warrant out for his arrest after violating a court protective order by sending threatening messages to what he and his lawyer claim was Thomas asking his wife about their children--that dream of coming back seems less and less likely.

According to the Austin American-Statesman, the warrant was signed on April 27. but Thomas has yet to be booked into Travis County Jail. He is now facing a third-degree felony charge.

“They were consciously and collectively working together to see his kids,” Trey Dolezal, Thomas' divorce lawyer told the Statesman. “I don’t really understand how he could be in violation by working together to visit with his children.”

Authorities involved say that Thomas violated the protective order by communicating with his estranged wife via the wrong means. Thomas is to only contact her through a co-parenting phone app.
