The Bears are finalizing a deal to send six-time Pro Bowl pass rusher Khalil Mack to the Los Angeles Chargers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Thursday afternoon. The Bears are expected to receive a 2022 second round pick and a 2023 sixth round pick in return.

Mack, 31, had six sacks in seven games in an injury-plagued 2021 season. He had 36 sacks in 53 games for the Bears across the past four years. Mack is under contract through 2024.

The Bears acquired Mack from the Raiders organization in September of 2018 in a blockbuster deal that featured Chicago dealing away two first round picks.

Soon after, the Bears signed him to a six-year, $141-million deal that, at the time, was a record for a defensive player.

Mack was drafted fifth overall in the 2014 NFL Draft by the Raiders after having spent four years playing at the University at Buffalo.
