Charlotte, N.C. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The Buffalo Bills snapped their two-game losing streak in a big way on Sunday, beating the Carolina Panthers, 40-9, in their first game out of the bye week.
While it wasn't a perfect day for Bills quarterback Josh Allen, it was efficient, as he completed 12-of-19 pass attempts for 163 yards and a touchdown. He also added a pair of rushing touchdowns, accounting for three total scores for Buffalo.
It was the run game and explosive plays on defense that really told the story on Sunday in Charlotte, N.C., which complimented Allen's overall efficiency.
While feeling great about his team after snapping a two-game skid, Allen noted there's still much more work to be done to continue their winning ways.
"The way that we won, for sure, I think again, the exciting part is there is a lot to clean up and a lot to improve on, and really to be excited about where this team can go," said Allen with the media during his postgame interview.
Allen heavily credited the Bills' offensive performance Sunday to the explosive play of running back James Cook, who accounted for 216 yards on the ground and a pair of touchdown runs.
"Our O-line is giving him a lot of holes, but he's just making some unbelievable cuts and out running people. It's doing what James Cook does," Allen stated.
"I mean, when you get James Cook, just let him cook."
