Allen: 'I feel like I let my teammates down' after OT playoff loss to Denver

Bills quarterback Josh Allen addressed the media following his team's 33-30 overtime loss to the Denver Broncos in the AFC Divisional Round.

Denver, Co. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - It was another heartbreaking postseason exit for the Buffalo Bills. While we're accustomed to see losses to Kansas City and Cincinnati, this loss came from Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium.

Josh Allen and the Bills understood the magnitude of this matchup and how difficult it was to win back to back road postseason games as the sixth seed in the AFC playoff picture.

Allen did not have a satisfactory game to say the least, completing 25 passes on 39 attempts for 283 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions. However, despite five total turnovers on offense, the Bills still had a lead with 4 minutes remaining in regulation time.

Allen and the Bills offense had a chance to strike in the overtime period and walk off the Broncos in dramatic fashion, but a controversial interception call on a deep pass to WR Brandin Cooks ended those dreams in an instant.

Denver went down the field, with the assist of a couple of pass interference penalties and kicked the game winning 24-yard field goal to send the Broncos to the next round.

Allen, with tears in his eyes, took full responsibility for the loss in Denver on Saturday night.

"It's extremely difficult. I feel like I feel like I let my teammates down tonight", Allen told the media.

Allen emphasized the importance of not turning the ball over and how all five turnovers played a massive role in the loss to Denver.

"You can't win with five turnovers. I fumbled twice through two picks. You shoot yourself in the foot like that. You don't deserve to win football games."

What's next for the Bills? Locker cleanout day, and another long offseason for the organization, coaches, players, and the fans.
