Allen, McDermott frustrated by loss to Dolphins

The Bills could not get much of anything going offensively in a 30-13 loss in Miami

Miami Gardens, Fla. (WGR Sports Radio550) - In a divisional matchup where the Bills needed a win to keep pace with the Patriots in the AFC East standing, the Dolphins had other plans.

Although he threw for 300-yards and had two touchdown passes, Josh Allen had two turnovers in the game and knows that he and the team need to play better offensively if they want to get back on track.

"I've got to be better," said Allen. "Anytime you turn it over three times, two while driving into the red zone, that's a recipe for disaster. Getting stopped on third and two, where I could have done something different didn't really set us up great. It comes down to execution, and we didn't execute."

Allen also knew that the way the offense started the game didn't help the team set up the tempo they wanted.

"I just feel like early on we were beating ourselves, but I give credit to them for coming out, playing and being ready for us."

Sean McDermott after the game praised the Dolphins play against the Bills but knew that the way the team started affected how the team would end up performing the rest of the game.

"We were chasing the game. They were in control of the game for the first half and then in the second half we were still chasing, which is a hard way to play," said McDermott.

As the offense did not play up to McDermott's expectation, he pointed out how they can get better moving forward from this game.

"We've got a great quarterback and you want to be able to move the ball two dimensionally. We should be able to move the ball with Josh through the air. It can't just be one phase of your offense. It's got to be two working in concert"
