Orchard Park, N.Y (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Bills were able to overcome the offensive slump they have experienced the past three weeks and claimed victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 24-18, on Thursday night at Highmark Stadium.
After three lackluster games where they did not get off to a quick enough start, but Buffalo offense, led by quarterback Josh Allen, was able to right the ship and brought the right tempo out of the gate.
Allen was able to finish Thursday night's prime-time performance by going 31-of-40 in the air for 324 yards and two touchdowns. Allen was also even able to add a rushing touchdown to his night in the second quarter.
In the moments after Thursday's win, Allen held some high praises for the team and the objective that is still in reach for them.
"Everything that we want is still in front of us," said Allen during his postgame comments on Thursday. "You wish you were 8-0 at this point, you wish you were 7-1, you wish you were 6-2. The reality is that we're 5-3, but we are going to continue to take it one game at a time, and we've got Sunday night next week against a really good [Cincinnati] Bengals team. We've got to be ready for them."
Allen connected with Bills rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid for a 22-yard stirke in the second quarter for his first career touchdown in the NFL. While Allen holds the young rookie in high regard, he can still see where Kincaid can continue to grow.
"He feels like he has been in this league for a long time. He is a professional, and he takes it very seriously," Allen said. "It's a business to himm so just his approach has been fantastic. Obviously the trust that I have in him is going to continue to grow, and we are going to continue to talk about things."
