Allen points finger at himself for prime-time loss to Texans

Bills quarterback Josh Allen addressed the media after being sacked eight times and throwing two interceptions in a 23-19 loss in Houston

Houston, Texas (WGR Sports Radio 550) - Despite being sacked eight times and facing relentless pressure all night long, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills offense were still fighting until the very end on "Thursday Night Football" in Houston.

However, the Bills quarterback could not overcome the odds, and a comeback attempt late fell short in a 23-19 loss to the Texans at NRG Stadium.

"They wanted it today. We had a chance to win it there at the end and we have to find a way," said Allen following Thursday night's loss.

While Allen struggled to find protection under center on a number of drop backs, he pointed out a number of flaws in the offensive performance that he says falls on his shoulders.

"I've gotta be better throwing the ball away. Too many times I was going backwards and I have to be better," Allen said.

Overall on the night, Allen went 24-of-34 passing for 253 yards, but also tossed a pair of costly interceptions, including one that sealed the victory for the Texans on a fourth down inside Houston territory.

Allen did have plenty of praise for the Texans' defense, which has performed as one of the best units in all of football this season.

"Statistically, I think they are tops in basically everything that you can be, and they showed that tonight. That’s a really good football team," Allen said.
