It doesn't look like their will be a quarterback debate surrounding the New England Patriots this week.
After Cam Newton was pulled in the second half against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday at Gillette Stadium, head coach Bill Belichick said he will be sticking with the veteran moving forward.
"Yeah, absolutely," he said after the game via video conference. "Just wanted to give Stid [Jarrett Stidham] a little experience here."
Newton was pulled early in the fourth quarter when he was 9-for-15 with 98 yards and three interceptions. In five games this season, he has two touchdowns and seven picks. Sunday marks the third straight game where Newton has struggled.
In relief, Stidham was 6-for-10 with 64 yards and a pick.
The Patriots, who are now 2-4 on the year, will take on the Buffalo Bills this Sunday at Bills Stadium in Orchard Park.
