The Buffalo Bills have added to their interior defensive line, signing defensive tackles Eli Ankou and Nazair Jones, the team announced on Tuesday.
They've also placed defensive end Bryan Cox, Jr., on Injured Reserve with an Achilles injury.
Ankou was signed as an undrafted free agent out of UCLA by the Houston Texans in 2017. He's played a total of 27 NFL games, including two starts, collecting 31 total tackles, two for loss, and 1.5 sacks.
Ankou, 6-foot-3 and 327 pounds, is originally from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and has spent time with six different NFL teams, most recently the Atlanta Falcons earlier this offseason.
Jones, 6-foot-5 and 292 pounds, was originally a third round pick of the Seattle Seahawks in the 2017 NFL Draft. He played his college football at North Carolina.
Jones played two seasons for the Seahawks, appearing in 20 games, including two starts, collecting 26 total tackles, four for loss, two sacks, and an interception. He missed the entire 2019 season after being placed on Injured Reserve with a knee injury and was not on an NFL roster in 2020.
Ankou and Jones join an interior defensive line that includes Ed Oliver, Star Lotulelei, Harrison Phillips, Vernon Butler, Justin Zimmer, Brandin Bryant, and Treyvon Hester.
The Bills roster is now at 89 players. They have two open roster spots.
