Bills demolish Jets in first divisional action of season

The Bills comfortably beat the Jets, 30-10, to improve to 2-0 on the year

East Rutherford, N.J. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - After a thrilling last-minute comeback win against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1, it was a much different story for the Buffalo Bills in Week 2.

The Bills were able to keep their momentum up from the fourth quarter of their season-opening win, and ended up cruising to a relatively easy 30-10 win over the New York Jets on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

After struggling to stop the run last week, the Bills defense came out strong on the Jets' opening drive. The unit forced a three-and-out, and allowed Josh Allen and the Buffalo offense to take the field in short order.

Allen and the offense took advantage of the opportunity. Allen rushed for 40-yards by himself on the drive. After a roughing the passer penalty, James Cook was able to punch the first score into the end zone for Buffalo, taking an early lead.

Buffalo's defense was unrelenting as quarterback Justin Fields was under duress yet again. This time, Joey Bosa was able to punch the Ball out and A.J. Epenesa jumped on top to secure possession.

Allen and the Bills were not able to put a touchdown on the board, but Matt Prater was able to extend the lead by three with a successful 28-yard field goal.

At the start of the Buffalo's third drive, Allen came out of the game after being sacked taking off his helmet and having his nose being looked at by the athletic trainers. Mitch Trubisky came in and completed a 32-yard pass by Josh Palmer. Allen came back into the game after two plays. The drive then stalled and Prater came in and extended the lead by three with a successful 52-yard field goal.

Buffalo's offense starts another drive after the defense forced a three and out. Keon Coleman comes alive after Allen connects with him two times for a 12-yard and a 7-yard catch. This set up Cook to break through the Jets defense for a 44-yard touchdown run. This extends the lead to 20 points unanswered.

The Jets offense put together a drive which was lead by Fields gaining yards using his legs. The Jets reached Bills territory for the first time and capitalized with Nick Folk successful 51-yard field goal. This cut the Bills lead down to 17.

After both offenses went back and forth collecting no points, the clock winded down to the end of the first half.

Buffalo receieved the second half kickoff and were quick to put three points on the board. They were able to move their way down the field with Cook but not make it all the way to the end zone. Prater continued to be a huge contributor for the Bills as he drilled another field goal from 33-yards out.

Buffalo's defense forces another three and out. The Bills offense then drives down the field to the Jets 4-yard line. Elijah Moore then takes the handoff from Allen and rumbles into the endzone. The Bills now extend the lead to 27 points.

The Bills and Jets both have their backup QB's in with Trubisky and Tyrod Taylor leading their respective offenses. Taylor takes the Jets down the field and caps off the drive with a 5-yard touchdown pass to Jeremey Ruckert to cut the lead down to 20.
