Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR) - On the first day of practice since trimming their roster to 53 players, the Buffalo Bills got several of their key players back on the field.

Among the players returning to practice in some capacity on Tuesday included center Connor McGovern, wide receiver Keon Coleman, linebacker Terrel Bernard, and safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson.

Each of them had been dealing with an injury that has kept him out of action.

The Bills were still without some other players, including wide receiver Khalil Shakir, running back Ty Johnson, safety Jalon Kilgore, offensive lineman Jude Bowry, edge rusher Javon Solomon, and defensive back Jordan Hancock.

Some of those players were working off to the side with athletic trainers.

Tuesday also marked the first practice for a couple few players who joined the club over the weekend.

Wide receiver Greg Dortch and offensive lineman Jedrick Wills Jr. were both signed to the club's 17-man practice squad.

After spending all of last season with the team, linebacker Shaq Thompson also re-signed to the practice squad and was in attendance, but not yet practicing.
