Bills’ home will be called ‘Highmark Stadium’

Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York buys naming rights

The stadium where the Buffalo Bills play their home games will now be called “Highmark Stadium,” as the team announced on Monday.

According to Sports Business Journal, it's a 10-year agreement between the team and health insurer Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York.

A statement on the team's official website from Bills' co-owner Kim Pegula says:

"We are proud to welcome Highmark to the Buffalo Bills family and we are thrilled to partner with them on a new naming rights deal for our stadium. We are confident that Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York is committed to maintaining their status as a healthcare and philanthropic leader in our region. We look forward to many years of working together with their team creating great memories at not only NFL football games but at many other health and wellness events and community celebrations."

The team has played its home games at the Orchard Park facility since 1973. Highmark Stadium will be the fifth name since it's opening. The others were Rich Stadium (from 1973–1997), Ralph Wilson Stadium (1998–2015), New Era Field (2016–2019), and most recently Bills Stadium (2020).

A press conference and ceremony are planned for Tuesday at the stadium.
