Bills release offensive lineman Daryl Williams

Buffalo will save $6 million in cap space by cutting the veteran

Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) - Ahead of the legal tampering period opening in the NFL on Monday, the Buffalo Bills announced the release of veteran offensive lineman Daryl Williams.

Williams joined the Bills for the 2020 and started every single game for the team in his two years with Buffalo. Williams ended up winning the starting job at right tackle for the 2020 season, but struggled at the start of the 2021 season, eventually being moved inside to right guard.

Monday's move will save the team $6 million in cap space, with free agency set to begin later this week on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET. The legal tampering period in the NFL officially starts at 12 p.m. ET on Monday.

With the release of Williams, however, the Bills will take on a $3.6 million dead cap hit.
