The Buffalo Bills announced two roster moves on Thursday with the release kicker Stephen Hauschka and punter Lachlan Edwards.

In 48 games with the Bills since 2017, Hauschka made 73 field goals, good for the sixth-most in Bills history.

However, Hauschka's efficiency deteriorated over time. After an impressive 87.9% field goal percentage and zero missed extra points in 2017, Hauschka regressed to 78.6% on field goals and three missed extra points in the last two seasons.

Over the course of his three years with the Bills, Hauschka ranked 26th in the NFL in field goal percentage. That, in large part, was the reason the team decided to spend a sixth round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft on kicker Tyler Bass.

Releasing Hauschka saves the Bills a total of $2.175 million on their salary cap as well.

As for Edwards, the Bills had just signed him back on Aug. 19. His release leaves just Corey Bojorquez at punter on the Bills roster.
