Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550) - After the Buffalo Bills signed wide receiver Deonte Harty in free agency, there was speculation about the future of Isaiah McKenzie with the team moving forward.
As it turns out, the Bills are, indeed, moving on from the veteran wideout as they announced his release from the roster on Friday.
McKenzie was scheduled to make $1.75 million in 2023, and his release will save the Bills $2.8 million on the salary cap.

The 27-year-old was expected to take the role as the slot receiver for the Bills at the start of last season. However, things didn't go as expected for the sixth-year wideout, as he started eight games with 42 catches for 423 yards and four touchdowns. He also accounted for one rushing touchdown on nine carries for 55 yards.
The best game for McKenzie this past year was on Thanksgiving against the Detroit Lions, where he brought in six catches for 96 yards and a touchdown in a 28-25 win.
McKenzie was claimed by the Bills off waivers during the 2018 season from the Denver Broncos. He quickly became a weapon on offense as a gadget player on jet sweeps. He was also utilized from time-to-time as a punt and kick returner on special teams.
