Bills sign edge rusher Matthew Judon to practice squad

Judon played 13 games for the Dolphins before being released earlier this week

Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The Buffalo Bills have added another veteran presence to their defensive front with three games remaining in the regular season.

As first reported by NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the Bills have signed defensive end Matthew Judon to the practice squad. To make room for Judon on the 16-man practice squad, Buffalo has released defensive end Morgan Fox.

Judon was released by the Miami Dolphins earlier this week, and became a free agent after clearing waivers.

In 13 games this season in Miami, Judon registered 19 total tackles, one tackle for loss and three quarterback hits.

With the Atlanta Falcons last season, Judon totaled 5.5 sacks with seven tackles for loss and nine quarterback hits.

Judon's best seasons in the NFL came when he was a member of the New England Patriots. In 2022, he recorded 15.5 sacks after registering 12.5 sacks in 2021.

The 33-year-old is also a four-time Pro Bowler with both the Patriots and Baltimore Ravens.

Judon will be joining a pass rush that has struggled to get after the quarterback this season. Joey Bosa leads the team with five sacks, while the team has totaled just 31 sacks this season, which ranks 17th in the NFL.
