The Buffalo Bills made some roster moves on Monday as the team begins to prepare for its Wild Card Round matchup against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday, Jan. 9 in Orchard Park.

Buffalo announced that wide receivers Kenny Stills and Tanner Gentry had been signed to the practice squad, while fellow receivers Gary Jennings and J.J. Nelson were released from the practice squad.

The Bills also announced the activation of tight end Tyler Kroft from the Reserve/COVID-19 list. Buffalo placed Kroft on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Saturday after he was said to have tested positive for the coronavirus.

Stills, who was waived by the Houston Texans earlier this season in November, visited the Bills last week, and all signs pointed towards him joining the team in the near future.

With the recent injury to Cole Beasley and John Brown just making his return to the lineup, the Bills are presumably looking to add depth at wide receiver ahead of the playoffs. In 10 games with Houston this season, Stills caught 11 passes for 144 yards and a touchdown.

Gentry, a former teammate of Josh Allen's at the University of Wyoming, joins the Bills after a year-and-a-half long hiatus from being on an NFL roster.

After being waived in August 2019 by the Chicago Bears, the team that signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2017, Gentry spent some time in the XFL with the New York Guardians after being selected in the third round of the 2020 XFL Draft. When the XFL suspended its operations in April of 2020, Gentry's contract was terminated.

As for Kroft, his quick stint on the Reserve/COVID-19 list ended Monday after it appeared his diagnosis on Saturday was a false positive. This will allow him to return sooner than the mandatory 10-day isolation period after testing positive.
