The Buffalo Bills are adding more competition, depth, and speed at wide receiver and in the return game by signing Brandon Powell. ESPN NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler was the first to report the signing.
Powell entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Florida in 2018, signed by the Detroit Lions. That season, he appeared in six games, catching 11 passes for 129 yards and returned two punts and two kickoffs.
The 5-foot-8, 181-pound wideout spent most of 2019 on the Atlanta Falcons practice squad, then appeared in 15 games for the team last season, catching 12 passes for 69 yards. He also returned 17 punts, averaging 8.9 yards per-return, and 17 kickoffs, averaging 20.2 yards per-return.
NFL Draft analyst Joe Marino added more insight into Powell and what he may provide the Bills.
