Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - It’s odd to think that an NFL injury report which includes fourteen names could actually wind up being an encouraging sign, but that might actually be the case when it comes to the Buffalo Bills on Wednesday.
Of the fourteen players listed on the team's first injury report of the week, only two of them did not actually participate in practice, tight end Dalton Kincaid (hamstring) and defensive tackle Phadarian Mathis (shoulder).
Eight players, including seven on defense alone, were limited participants. But the fact they were on the field to begin the week is an encouraging sign.
Four players on the report were full participants, including defensive and A.J. Epenesa, who missed last week's loss at the Miami Dolphins while in concussion protocol.
Defensive tackle T.J. Sanders was designated to return from Injured Reserve and also a full participant. That means the team now has 21 days to place him back on the active 53-man roster.
The 6-3 Bills host the 6-3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday at Highmark Stadium.
Two notable offensive players for the Bucs, running back Bucky Irving and wide receiver Chris Godwin, returned to practice in a limited fashion after missing several weeks.
Offensive guard Ben Bredeson and linebacker Haasan Reddick did not practice.
