Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) - Buffalo Bills fans may want to prepare themselves for another year of a very hectic and non-routine schedule.
National Football League Vice President of Broadcasting, Mike North joined Matt Bove and myself on the "It's Always Gameday in Buffalo" podcast on Monday night, and made it clear that despite numerous changes to the roster, the Bills are still regarded as one of the top television draws in the league. They should be in line for plenty of prime-time games once again in 2024.
"Not taking our foot of the gas with the Bills," North said when asked how the league sees the Bills from a national broadcast standpoint heading into this upcoming season. "I don't think there's any question they have one of the best players in the league, and that is the must-see TV we've been talking about here. What makes me want to go sit in front of the television for a few hours? It's somebody like [Josh Allen].
"He's phenomenal. He's fun to watch."
In a wide-ranging, almost hour-and-a-half long interview, North explained why the league is playing on a Friday night in San Paolo, Brazil in Week One, the decision to play on Christmas Day again this year despite it being on a Wednesday, if the league will consider that the Bills have opened on the road in primetime two years in a row when determining this year's Week One schedule, and a lot more.
