Bills take offensive tackle Tylan Grable out of UCF with 204th overall pick in 2024 NFL Draft

Grable started 13 games for UCF in 2023, and earned Honorable Mention on the All-Big 12 team

Detroit, Mich. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Bills add another depth piece to the offensive line with the selection of tackle Tylan Grable with the 204th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

This is the first of two selections for the Bills in the sixth round.

Grable played five seasons of college football, with one of his stops being at Jacksonville State before transferring to UCF. While with the Knights, Grable started all 14 games in 2022 and 13 games in 2023.

The 24-year-old was a Third-Team pick on Pro Football Focus' All-AAC team in 2022. He was also named an Honorable Mention offensive lineman pick on All-Big 12 team, chosen by league coaches.

Grable is the second offensive lineman taken off the board for the Bills in the 2024 NFL Draft. The first was center Sedrick Van Pran-Granger with the 141st overall pick in the fifth round.

Here is what NFL analyst Lance Zierlein had to say about the offensive tackle:

"Offensive tackle prospect who was throwing for 3,000 yards as a junior in high school. Grable has clearly continued to grow since his quarterback days but still possesses lighter feet that show up in pass protection and out in space. He plays with a narrow strike zone at the point of attack and needs to improve his feel as a positional blocker. He has strong hands and is able to cinch up opponents once he gets inside. His pass protection is decent but can improve with cleaner hand strikes and placement. While he wasn't asked to operate much in such a system at UCF, his best fit might be with a stretch-zone team where he'll offer guard/tackle flexibility."

The Bills have two more picks remaining in the 2024 NFL Draft, with their next selection coming at 219th overall.
