Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550) - Following the Buffalo Bills' 21-14 win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday night to secure a fourth-straight AFC East title and the No. 2 seed in the AFC Playoffs, the Super Wild Card Weekend slate of games is all set in the NFL.
With the Bills set to host, at least, one game at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park in the 2023 playoffs, it will be the 7-seed Pittsburgh Steelers making their way Western New York for a Sunday afternoon showdown at 1 p.m. EST.
The Steelers, like the Bills, secured their playoff berth on Sunday thanks to a loss by the Jacksonville Jaguars to the Tennessee Titans. Pittsburgh, however, also needed to win their Week 18 matchup with the Ravens, which they did on Saturday night at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.
At 10-7, the Steelers were able to secure the seventh seed in the AFC by themselves after Week 18 losses by the Indianapolis Colts and Jaguars, who were also in contention in the conference entering the final week of the regular season.
As for the Bills, their win over the Dolphins gives the franchise its 14th division title in team history. Despite Buffalo holding the same record as the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC standings, the Bills take the No. 2 seed thanks to their head-to-head tie-breaker, which was a Week 14 win at Arrowhead Stadium.
The 3-seed Chiefs will end up hosting the 6-seed Dolphins on Saturday night at 8 p.m. EST in Kansas City.
The last time the Bills and Steelers met came in Week 5 of the 2022 season when quarterback Josh Allen threw for a career-best 424 yards and four touchdowns in a 38-3 throttling of Pittsburgh at Highmark Stadium.
That game was also Kenny Pickett's first career start in the NFL for the Steelers.
The second-year quarterback has recently been dealing with an ankle injury, as 2018 third-round pick Mason Rudolph has helped carry the Steelers to three-straight wins and a postseason berth over the last few weeks.
WGR will have wall-to-wall coverage of the Bills-Steelers matchup in the AFC Wild Card Round all week leading up to kickoff in Orchard Park. Sunday's coverage on WGR will begin at 7 a.m. EST.
