Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN/WGR Sports Radio 550) - The City of Buffalo is showing its support for the Buffalo Bills on their fifth-consecutive AFC East title by displaying banners on the front pillars of City Hall.
Acting Mayor Chris Scanlon says each of the three banners represent a different message.
"One messages referencing their AFC East championship, one references team, City Hall and our support for our hometown team, and the other one states, 'Let's go Buffalo' with a depiction of quarterback Josh Allen," explained Scanlon on Monday.
While Scanlon didn't give a specific timeframe, he says they'll be up for the foreseeable future.
"I want to invite Bills fans from across our region and beyond to visit City Hall. Make sure you come by, take a selfie with our banners, celebrate with our team as they enjoy their fifth-consecutive AFC [East] championship," Scanlon said. "I want to emphasize how important the Bills are to this region, and how the passion and energy that comes has become a unifying force throughout our area in Western New York. I want to acknowledge the hard work of Team City Hall for putting these banners in place, as well as CSI printing, a company founded right here in Buffalo, by Buffalo natives, for their expertise in creating these stunning banners."
The Bills still have three games remaining on their regular season schedule before the playoffs begin on Jan. 11. The first of the final three games takes place this Sunday afternoon against the New England Patriots at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park.
Kickoff is slated for 4:25 p.m. EST.
