Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - Wide receiver D.J. Moore and edge rusher Bradley Chubb were the two biggest additions for the Buffalo Bills this offseason.
Both had played in Buffalo before as a visitor, but on Saturday night, they were members of the good guys when they joined the rest of their Bills teammates for the first-ever event at a packed Highmark Stadium.
"Oh, it's amazing," said Moore of playing in the stadium for the very first time as part of the Bills' open practice. "First time opening the stadium for everybody. Even the people in the 400s were going crazy. So I'm loving it here, and this stadium is going to be rocking."
Moore had only played at the old Highmark Stadium one previous time, when the Carolina Panthers lost 31-14 to the Bills in 2021. He was acquired by the Bills via a trade with the Chicago Bears in March.
But Chubb had been the opponent in Buffalo four previous times, all as a member of the Miami Dolphins, iincluding once in the playoffs. All four of those trips to Western New York resulted in a loss for Chubb, who signed as a free agent with the Bills this offseason.
He certainly felt the love and excitement as a member of the team on Saturday night.
"It was crazy, man," Chubb said as he was signing nerf footballs and thing them into the crowd. "The energy was for sure there. Being in the City of Buffalo, you see how special this team is, how special the city is. We're just practicing each other, and it filled out the new stadium. I know everybody's excited to get in here, and it was exciting to be here."
