Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - Buffalo Bills left tackle Dion Dawkins returned to the practice field on Thursday after missing one day due to a hamstring injury.
Meanwhile, wide receiver Khalil Shakir, who is dealing with an ankle injury, did not practice for a second-straight day. Also not practicing again on Thursday included safety Taylor Rapp (concussion protocol) and defensive tackle Austin Johnson (oblique).
Defensive tackle Ed Oliver showed up on the injury report as limited with a hamstring injury. Oliver was getting worked on by trainers early in the session, but did join his position group for work during the portion of practice the media was allowed to watch.
Defensive tackle DaQuan Jones was given a veteran rest day on Thursday.
Nickel cornerback Taron Johnson (forearm) and linebacker Terrel Bernard (pectoral) were both practicing again, but during the media-open portion of the session, Johnson did not take any reps with or against a bag or anything else that required even minimal contact.
The Bills will face the Texans this upcoming Sunday in Houston.
For the Texans on Thursday, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 in Houston, neither running back Joe Mixon (ankle) or Dameon Pierce (hamstring) practiced for a second-straight day. However, left tackle Laremy Tunsil (ankle) returned to the field and wide receiver Tank Dell practiced for a second-straight day.
Official game designations for both clubs will come out on Friday.
