Ed Oliver out indefinitely with torn biceps

Bills head coach Sean McDermott gave an update on several injured players on Monday

Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver will be out indefinitely after tearing a biceps muscle in Sunday's 40-9 win over the Carolina Panthers.

Head coach Sean McDermott told reporters on Monday that Oliver's injury will require surgery.

Oliver had missed four games this season with an ankle injury before returning to the lineup in Week 6 against the Atlanta Falcons. Through three games played, he had registered three sacks, a forced fumble, and 12 total tackles.

Oliver's injury means the Bills are down to only two healthy defensive tackles on their 53-man roster: Rookie Deone Walker and Larry Ogunjobi, who just returned from a six-game suspension.

DaQuan Jones remains out with a calf injury, while rookie T.J. Sanders is on Injured Reserve with a knee injury and DeWayne Carter is out for the season with a torn Achilles.

Zion Logue, Jordan Phillips, and Phadarian Mathis are all on the team's practice squad.

McDermott said Jones, as well as wide receiver Joshua Palmer and linebackers Matt Milano and Terrel Bernard are all improving, and that they will see how the week goes for each of them.

The 5-2 Bills host the 4-3 Kansas City Chiefs next Sunday at 4:25 p.m. at Highmark Stadium.
