Pittsford, N.Y. (WGR 550) - There were plenty of high expectations for Buffalo Bills wide receiver Gabe Davis heading into the 2022 season. However, an early ankle injury lingered for Davis in his 15 starts last year.
During his meeting with the media at Bills training camp on Thursday, Davis admitted the ankle injury affected him more than just his play on the football field.
"I feel like hurting my ankle the way that I did, it was probably the worst one out of all of them just cause I had to miss a game," said Davis following Thursday's practice.
"It pulls you a little bit, just because the type of work and sacrifice you put into the offseason to be this player you're trying to be, then all of a sudden something like that ends up happening," Davis said. "Everything feels great, but it really messes with your head."
Davis sets expectations for himself, and wants to separate himself from others each day.
The 24-year-old is entering the final year of his rookie contract in 2023.
