Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR) - Buffalo Bills edge rusher Greg Rousseau has been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Month for September, the league announced Thursday.

Last Sunday in the Bills’ 24-16 win over the Los Angeles Chargers at Highmark Stadium, Rousseau became just the third player in NFL history to begin a season with, at least, two sacks in his team’s first three games.
He also became the first Bills player to ever have, at least, six sacks over the first three games of the season.
Rousseau also leads the NFL in several categories, including tackles for loss, quarterback hits and forced fumbles:

It's Rousseau's first-career Defensive Player of the Month award. He's the fifth Bills linebacker to earn the honor, joining Lorenzo Alexander, Cornelius Bennett, Sam Cowart, and Bryce Paup.
