Cincinnati, Ohio (WBEN/WGR 550) - The family of hospitalized Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin issued a statement Tuesday afternoon, thanking everyone for their love and support.
Hamlin collapsed after making a tackle in Monday night's game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium.
The Hamlin family says it is "deeply moved by the prayers, kind words, and donations from fans around the country." The family also acknowledges the first responders and the team at University of Cincinnati Medical Center, who it says have provided exceptional care to Hamlin.
Medical staff restored his heartbeat during frantic moments on the field before he was loaded into an ambulance.
Monday's game against Cincinnati was postponed following Hamlin's collapse. No date or time has been announced by the NFL for when the game will be continued or made up.
