The J.J. Watt free agency watch continues to take on a life of its own.
The latest drama surrounding the free agent pass rusher came from, what many believed to be, his Peloton account, which showed his bio to read, “SB56…GB...CLE…BUF.”
The profile, kJWatt, had about 16,000-plus followers and the teams he listed — the Green Bay Packers, Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills — all check out as legitimate possibilities he could land.
In fact, ESPN’s John Clayton recently reported that the Titans, Bills and Packers were the leading teams in the Watt sweepstakes, so many thought this meant the Browns may have replaced the Tennessee Titans on his list of preferences.
Reputable reporters began resurfacing the screenshot of his bio, too, until Watt chimed in to set the record straight with a tweet.
Watt’s free agency has created an obsession amongst several fan bases ever since the 31-year-old mutually parted ways with the Texans last month.
Fans have overanalyzed every tweet or comment he’s made where it has become somewhat of a meme for fan bases to take an innocuous post and spin it as a way to say it is a sign he is coming to their team.
The news of a Watt signing could come at any point as he is free to sign with any team when the timing is right for him.
