Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - After being released by the Buffalo Bills in order to make room for veteran cornerback Darius Slay on the 53-man roster, it didn't take long for cornerback Ja'Marcus Ingram to find a new home.
The 28-year-old ended up being claimed off of waivers by the Houston Texans on Thursday after they ended up placing former Bills defensive tackle Tim Settle Jr. on Injured Reserve.
The University at Buffalo product only appeared in seven games this season for the Bills, registering six tackles and playing most of his snaps on special teams. He has been a healthy scratch for the Bills for the last three weeks.
Over his four-year NFL career, spent entirely with the Bills to this point, Ingram had appeared in 29 games, making one career start and registering 33 total tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack, four passes defended, two interceptions and a touchdown.
This waiver claim by the Texans came just hours after Slay had reportedly told the Bills he was not reporting to the team, and that he was contemplating his playing future the rest of the season.
With Slay still accounted for on the 53-man roster, the rest of the cornerbacks room in Buffalo consists of Christian Benford, Tre'Davious White, Max Hairston, Taron Johnson (nickel cornerback) and Cam Lewis (nickel cornerback).
The Bills also have corners Dane Jackson and Tre'Cory Couch on the practice squad.
