Joe Brady will 'bring the energy every single day'

The new Bills head coach laid out his vision for the team at his first press conference in his new role on Thursday

Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - During his introductory press conference as the new head coach of the Buffalo Bills on Thursday, Joe Brady showed the same enthusiasm and energy he's been known for over the last four years as an assistant coach.

"I believe in communication, connection, accountability and love," said Brady on Thursday while speaking at the podium inside the team's training center.

Brady made it clear that he will bring a new vision for the team, while also recognizing the foundation set forth by Sean McDermott, who was fired last week after nine years at the helm.

"Over the past four years, I've learned a tremendous amount of things from coach McDermott," Brady said. "How to lead, resilience, standards. The past nine years in this organization matter. I'm understanding of that. I'm appreciative of the opportunity to be a part of it. They matter deeply, and they deserve respect. I'm so grateful for coach McDermott. I love coach McDermott, and I'm going to do whatever I can to build upon the things he laid, and the foundation he laid."

After recognizing McDermott's work and thanking him for helping to bring him to Buffalo, the 36-year-old said he will bring his own new vision and new mentality to the head coach role of the Bills.

"A new energy that I've got to drive every single day," Brady laid out. "I'm going to bring the energy every single day, and I believe people are going to feed off of that. I truly believe in being the temperature. I'm the weather, and they're going to feel it every single day."

Bills quarterback Josh Allen, tight end Dalton Kincaid, offensive linemen Spencer Brown and Alec Anderson, and cornerback Maxwell Hairston were some of the players in attendance for Brady's first press conference after being named the 21st head coach in franchise history.

Brady specifically spoke to them and towards them several times during his comments at the podium.

"Connected teams win. If you love the men next to you and care more about his success than your own, then you're going to win football games," Brady said.

Brady adds he understands and is embracing the expectations that come along with the position.
