Josh Allen was the story at Buffalo Bills training camp on Friday, both on the field and off the field.

Off the field, just a couple of hours after practice ended, the team announced that Allen had agreed to a new six-year contract extension. ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter says the deal is worth $258 million, including $150 million guaranteed.

On the field, even without two of his main weapons, Allen looked terrific just outside the ADPRO Sports Training Center.

While the Bills worked almost exclusively in the red zone in 11-on-11 drills, Allen didn’t have the option to throw to wide receivers Stefon Diggs or Emmanuel Sanders. Diggs appeared to be getting a rest day, while Sanders took part in individual position work but then sat out the rest of practice, one day after sitting out entirely with a foot injury.

It didn’t matter.

Allen found different receivers, and often, and several times for touchdowns. Wide receivers Isaiah Hodgins, Cole Beasley, Isaiah McKenzie and Gabriel Davis, tight end Tommy Sweeney and running back Matt Breida all got into the act.

Wide receiver Jake Kumerow looked like he had another highlight reel touchdown catch, but the NFL officials who were there for the second day in a row called him out of bounds in the back corner of the end zone. Most of the media on-hand disagreed with the call and felt Kumerow was in-bounds.

The defense did make a few plays along the way, including linebacker Matt Milano doing a great job covering tight end Dawson Knox, climbing the ladder to knock it away before Knox could haul it in.

Participation:

Running back Christian Wade did not participate and was seen with his right arm in a sling. Guard Forrest Lamp wasn’t present for the second day in a row.

The Bills will practice at Highmark Stadium again on Saturday morning for an open practice to the public at 10 a.m. ET. Tickets for Saturday's practice are sold out, but you can still get tickets for the open session on Wednesday, Sept. 1 at the Bills' website.
