Orchard Park, NY (WGR) - Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman was wearing a walking boot on his right foot Tuesday morning as the team held an open practice inside Highmark Stadium.

The team did not disclose the specific injury for Coleman, who was one of several players who did not suit up and participate in the session.

Fellow wideout DJ Moore, who was examined on the sidelines during Saturday's 29-14 preseason win over the Carolina Panthers, took part in individual position work, but did not take any reps with the offense against the defense.

Add in wide receiver Skyler Bell, who hasn't practiced in several days, and Khalil Shakir, who also didn't practice on Tuesday, and the Bills' wide receivers for their top unit at times included Ja’Mori Maclin, Mecole Hardman, Stephen Gosnell, and Dante Pettis, along with Joshua Palmer. Pettis caught a beautiful corner route for a touchdown pass from Josh Allen during 11-on-11.

Defensive tackle Ed Oliver also didn't practice. It could have been a veteran rest day for Oliver and Shakir, but there was no confirmation from the team. Injury reports are not required during the preseason.

The team was also without a pair of safeties on Tuesday.

Veteran CJ Gardner-Johnson has been out for about a week. Rookie Jalon Kilgore joined him on the sidelines. Both were present and walking around with their position group.

The Bills actually did get back two key defenders in the secondary.

Cornerback Maxwell Hairston and safety Cole Bishop both returned to action.

Center Connor McGovern also reminded out and is hopeful to be back for the team's regular season opener at the Houston Texans on September 13.
