Pittsford, N.Y. (WGR 550) - There are just two days remaining for Buffalo Bills training camp at St. John Fisher University before the team returns to Orchard Park for the rest of the preseason to gear up for the 2023 campaign.

Over the past three offseasons in Buffalo, the defensive line has been a significant point of emphasis for the Bills. Head coach Sean McDermott has wanted to make sure his defensive front has constant pressure getting to the quarterback.

In order to get that added pressure in the pocket, general manager Brandon Beane has attempted to add some assets to the likes of draft picks Ed Oliver, Greg Rousseau and Boogie Basham, as well as free agents like Von Miller, the return of Jordan Phillips, and recently Leonard Floyd.

Also included in this group of pass rushers in Buffalo is 2020 second-round pick A.J. Epenesa, who's taking part in his fourth training camp with the team. He feels his goal this upcoming 2023 season is to make sure he is finishing plays and getting to the quarterback.

"I had a lot of times where I was in position last year. The big thing for me is to be able to make that play, finish, and get the quarterback to the ground," said Epenesa during an appearance on the "Jeremy White Show" before Wednesday's practice at St. John Fisher University.

Epenesa feels to get where he wants to be at is to take a step back and not get too excited when he is close to the quarterback. The 24-year-old finished the 2022 season with 6.5 sacks and feels like he personally took a positive step forward.

"I can definitely say it clicked a little bit towards the end of the season, but from this point, it's about taking it a little bit further and doing a little bit more," Epenesa said with Jeremy White and Joe DiBiase.
