Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) - It was a return to pure dominance for the Buffalo Bills this past Sunday in their matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers at Highmark Stadium.
Josh Allen set a new franchise record with 424 passing yards in a regulation game, while also tossing four touchdown passes to Gabriel Davis (2), Stefon Diggs and rookie wideout Khalil Shakir.
In addition, the Buffalo defense was stout all afternoon, holding Kenny Pickett and the Steelers offense to just three points in a 38-3 victory in Orchard Park.
With the victory and a Miami Dolphins loss to the New York Jets, the Bills managed to improve to 4-1 on the 2022 season and re-take the No. 1 spot atop the AFC East.
With one more week before the bye, Buffalo is gearing up for, perhaps, its biggest matchup on the 2022 schedule, and a rematch of the epic AFC Divisional Round matchup this past January.
The Bills are returning to Kansas City, Missouri this week to face the Chiefs in a contest of 4-1 teams atop the AFC standings at Arrowhead Stadium. With both teams expected to be contenders to represent the AFC in Super Bowl LVII this February in Glendale, Arizona, this contest could very well factor into a postseason matchup and who reigns as a higher seed in the conference.
Meanwhile, Buffalo is hoping to avenge a loss to the Chiefs in the playoffs this past season, where the Bills ended up falling short of the AFC Championship Game with a heartbreaking 42-36 overtime loss in Kansas City.
As for the Chiefs, they enter Sunday's game after escaping a loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on homefield on "Monday Night Football".
Despite four touchdown connections between Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, the Raiders had a chance to snatch victory from Kansas City in the dying moments of the game. However, on a fourth down play to extend a drive for Las Vegas, wide receivers Hunter Renfrow and Davante Adams collided, and Derek Carr ended up tossing an incomplete pass to end the game.
Given the way both games ended in Week 5 for the Bills and Chiefs, it gave one Howard Simon a ton of confidence in his picks heading into the Week 6 edition of "Howard Picks the Bills". Not only does Howard pick the Bills to beat the Chiefs in Kansas City this Sunday, but he also only has Buffalo losing one more time in 2022 to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17.
