Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - After a 23-20 loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday in Orchard Park, the Buffalo Bills are now 4-1 on the season.
This is the Bills first hiccup of the year, stopping their dominate start to the season. The Patriots handed the Bills their first AFC East loss since last year where the Patriots beat the Bills 23-16 where Mitch Trubisky and Joe Milton were the starters.
While Sunday's contest at Highmark Stadium didn't go the way many thought it would, Bills quarterback Josh Allen was able to accounted for 253 passing yards and two passing touchdowns. Meanwhile, the Bills offense had three turnovers (two fumbles, one interception) which sealed the Bills fate.
The Bills will now try to move on from this loss and focus on the Atlanta Falcons for another prime-time showdown on Monday Night Football in Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
The Falcons are going to be fresh coming off their bye week. The Falcons are 2-2 to start the season coming off a win versus the Washington Commanders. They have had some ugly losses to their division opponents losing to both the Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Meanwhile, second-year quarterback Michael Penix Jr. has struggled to start the season, throwing for three touchdowns and three interceptions. Running Back Bijan Robinson has been the real star of their offense being their leading rusher with 314 yards and leading receiver with 270 yards.
After the Bills first loss, Howard Simon still has hope the Bills can get back in the win column against the Falcons. Howard has been very 50/50 on this matchup, but now believes the Bills can get the job done.
The next loss for the Bills come after a three game winning streak and happen at Week 11 versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Then the Bills will lose again in Week 12 to the Houston Texans.
The Bills then go on a four game winning streak until they are met with their fourth and final loss of the year to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 17. This means the Bills end up at 13-4 for the season and still end as the No. 1 seed in the AFC Playoffs.
