McDermott: Benford moving in right direction, will practice this week

The Bills cornerback missed last Sunday's game with a toe injury

Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - Buffalo Bills cornerback Christian Benford practiced on Wednesday, and head coach Sean McDermott said he is "moving in the right direction" as far as recovery from a toe injury that sidelined him during last Sunday's win over the New England Patriots.

Meanwhile, defensive tackle Jordan Phillips (ankle), kicker Matt Prater (quad), tight end Dalton Kincaid (knee), and left tackle Dion Dawkins (illness) weren't on the field, which was a walk-through for the team.

Both Phillips and Prater have already been ruled out of their upcoming contest against the Cleveland Browns this Sunday at Huntington Bank Field.

Hardman returns

McDermott also announced on Wednesday the team has opened the 21-day practice window for wide receiver/return man Mecole Hardman Jr.

Hardman Jr. has missed four games with a calf injury suffered in his first game back on Nov. 16 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The team now has 21 days to activate him to the 53-man roster.
