Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Bills took home their first playoff victory of the 2023 postseason on Monday with a 31-17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Wild Card Round at Highmark Stadium.

With the win, the Bills, who now have won six games in-a-row, will face off with the Kansas City Chiefs this coming Sunday at Highmark Stadium for a 6:30 p.m EST kickoff. It will mark the first time in his career where Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes will be on the road for a playoff game.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott was quite pleased with his team’s overall effort in Monday's win. He was also incredibly thankful for "Bills Mafia" showing up in Orchard Park, despite a large portion of Highmark Stadium being buried in snow.

"'Bills Mafia' showed up," said McDermott on Monday following the win. "I know there wasn’t always clean seats to sit on, but it didn't seem like it mattered to them. I applaud 'Bills Mafia' for showing up the way they did, and the fashion they did."

The Bills were able to secure 179 yards rushing in Monday's win, with 79 of those belonging to running back James Cook. McDermott highlighted his starting running back's performance on Sunday, saying he could tell Cook was completely focused on the game.

"I thought James ran with purpose tonight," McDermott said. "You could tell by the tilt of his pads that he was ready to go, and we need more of that."
