Cincinnati, Ohio (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Bills were unable to secure a crucial AFC win on Sunday, dropping a 24-18 decision to the Cincinnati Bengals in prime-time at Paycor Stadium. The loss now puts the Bills at 5-4 at the halfway mark of the 2023 season.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott was less than satisfied with his team's performance on Sunday, and believes there is a lot of improvement that needs to happen.

"It was tough sled. That can't happen," said McDermott during his postgame press conference with the media. "Against a good football team that's known for scoring points and a good quarterback, [you've got to] be able to score points... and we didn't do it enough."

The Bills defense allowed the Bengals to gain over 397 yards of total offense, 343 of which were through the air courtesy of Joe Burrow. Although McDermott believes this might not have been the Bills' best performance, he is treating this as an opportunity for his team to grow.

"[We've got to] continue to coach and continue to play, and play hard," McDermott said. "It starts up front on both sides of the ball, [and] stops on the line of scrimmage. I don't think we did enough of that tonight."
