Detroit, Mich. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Bills snapped their two-game losing streak on Sunday with 31-23 win over the Cleveland Browns at Ford Field in Detroit.

The Bills and Browns traveled to the "Motor City" after a lake effect snowstorm pounded the Western New York area, forcing the NFL to move the game out of harm's way.

With the win, the Bills improve the 7-3 on the season and are now tied with the Miami Dolphins for first place in the AFC East. Buffalo is also tied for second in the AFC with the Dolphins, Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans.

Between Thursday night and Saturday morning, some portions of Western New York saw record-setting snow totals. Orchard Park, specifically, saw nearly 77 inches of snow, including a record of 66 inches over a 24-hour period.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott says it was the effort of the community helping get the team out of their homes and to the team facility in order to get to the airport.

"You call it the 'City of Good Neighbors' for a reason I mean, you saw that in full effect Friday and Saturday," said McDermott during his postgame comments on Sunday. "It was pretty cool talking about not sure what's going to happen, not sure if we're going to be able to get out. We got five or six text messages to my wife and myself, of neighbors and friends saying, 'Hey whatever you need, we'll be there to help you.' That's pretty special"

Of course, the Bills still had a game to play after escaping the snow. McDermott was very impressed with one specific aspect of the team's game that had been lacking for different parts of this season.

"Very impressed by the way we ran the football," McDermott said. "Both backs had close to 80-plus yards. They were running hard, taking care of the football. Good to watch our offensive line go to work the way they did."

The Bills did stumble early on in the game, but McDermott wasn't worried about his team as the game went forward.

"I think we got into a good rhythm," he said. "A little bit off early in the first quarter, but it was good to get settled in, get into a rhythm."
